The rehearsals in connection with the game of living chess to be given at the Auckland Exhibition at a future dato are proceeding satisfactorily. The game selected is the one played at the late Vienna International Tourney between Tarrasch and Marco, and published in this journal on September 3rd last. It has the merit of not only being good chess, but is also very effective from a spectator's point of view. Mr. A. Ashton will direct the white pieces, and Mr. S. White the opposing side.
